Brothers

Thought I would see how much these two looked alike.  Logan is the one on the top and Mason is the one on the bottom.

Masons newborn pictures

This one make me laugh we were trying to get his hands underneath his chin.  Didn't quite turnout how we had hoped.

Mason's Birth Story

Mason's Birth Story:
I am mainly writing this down here so I don't loose it. I have been loosing everything lately.  Anyways I will start with the 21st which was a Monday the day before I had Mason I had a doctors appointment, I was only dilated to a 2 and the doctor said I would be lucky if I went into labor by myself, so he set up Thursday to induce me.  I came home crying because I was so uncomfortable, and just wanted to be done.  That night we went over to the Keeley's to sell our VW bus, and while we were there, I spent about 2 minutes on the tramp bouncing, hoping that it would move things along.  Which to my relief it did.  The next morning around 9 my contractions started, I was in denial that I was in labor because I was only a 2 the day before and had been a 2 for two weeks.  So I started making spaghetti sauce, which should of only taken me a couple hours took me all day, every time I would get up I would have another contraction.  I finally called Jonny around 2 and told him I might be in labor, he came home around 4 and by then my contractions were between 4 to 8 minutes apart.  I still wasn't convinced I was in labor, my doctors nurse told me that my contractions had to be 5 minutes apart for 2 hours before I could come in and mine were never consistent, and I did not want to be sent home, so I waited till about 5:30 to go into the hospital.  By that point I was in so much pain I couldn't stand straight and I had the shakes so bad it was hard to walk.  They checked me in and the nurse kept asking me if I was positive I was in labor, I guess that night was really busy with expectant moms, they had to put me in one of there overflow rooms.  The nurse checked me and I was dilated to a 7 in half almost 8.  If I wasn't in so much pain I would have cried! That was the best news I had heard all day, they rushed me to the delivery room so they could get fluids in me before they did my epidural.  I only had to wait about 15 minutes before the doctor came in to give me the epidural.  The whole time I was getting it done the nurse kept telling my that she had a feeling that she should check me before he started.  Because I was in so much pain and my contractions were coming on really fast. I wouldn't let her because if I was further then an 8 they wouldn't of let me have one.  They ended up doing a spinal tap (I think that is what they call it) and the epidural.  Because I was so far along he gave me the spinal tap which works a lot faster then the epidural but only lasts for a couple hours. I ended up not needing the epidural, by the time I was done pushing I was starting to feel my toes again which was perfect timing.  While I was getting the epidural I think I was squeezing Jonny's hand too tight and he might of had his knees locked because he almost passed out.  He had to sit on the floor right next to me until he felt better.  Lol oops I guess I don't know my own strength.  After they were done, it was almost instant relief, I love epidurals I am so grateful that they let me have one.  The nurse checked me and I was at a 9 in half, it only took me about 30 minutes to go from an almost 8 to an almost 10, but my water still hadn't broken.  They called the on call doctor to come and break my water which was about 730.  Right after he broke my water I was ready to push.  My contractions had slowed down to about 5 minutes apart and because I was completely numb the doctor had to have his hand on my stomach in between contractions  to feel when they were coming.  The monitor would only pick up every other one.  It is the weirdest thing to try and push when you can't feel anything.  While I was pushing, Mason was still really high, his shoulders couldn't get through my pelvic bone which meant his little bum was still touching my ribs.  Every time I would push I would get more and more sick to my stomach, and Masons heartbeat would take longer and longer to get back to normal.  So they had to use the vacuum and pull him out.  Right before my last push I started to puke.  Thankfully the doctor was able to get him out on that last push.  Right after I had him they had me hold him skin to skin, which I loved, he cried for awhile but after that he was wide awake just looking around.  He ended up being 7 pounds 8 ounces and 20 inches.  After a while the nursery nurses came in and measured and weighed him.  Because I had been puking the nurse gave me some nausea medicine which gave me the shacks and made me so sleepy,  while the nursery nurses were trying to talk to me I kept falling asleep on them, they probably thought I was a horrible mom for falling asleep instead of holding me newborn, but I couldn't keep my eyes open for anything.  After they took us up to our room, I couldn't hold Mason because I was so afraid of dropping him, I was shaking so bad and I was so weak, thank goodness for awesome husbands.  I ended up getting the stomach flu that night, thankfully Jonny stayed at the hospital that night with me.  He ended up getting it the next day.  Luckily both Mason and Logan didn't get it. They kept us an extra day to make sure Mason wasn't getting sick.  He is such a good baby, rarely cries and loves to eat. We feel so blessed to have another health boy in our family.

The Rushton Reunion

We were able to go to my dads reunion this year. It has been about 6 years since I had been to one and this was Logan's and Jonny's first time.  It was so fun!  I am so grateful for the family that I have!!  We had a lot of fun catching up with everyone.  Sadly the only pictures I got were of the pond and boats.  Logan loved going out Jonny

My hubby is so talented!

Jonny is so talented!  He has been working on a few new projects for me for the house.  I love that I can tell him what I want or show him an idea and it turns out even better then I hoped! He has been working on a new business idea with graph designing.  He has been working on quotes right now.  So if you need anything designed get a hold of Jonny!
He did this in vynal when we first moved in.  This is in the living room.
This one he made for Karie Annes.
He made these for Logan's room, they are printed out and put on frames.  Which he made himself!

This is a quote I saw on pinterest the other day!  I love this quote it is now hanging in Logan's room.  Jonny designed it, you can't tell but there is a winnie the pooh in the back ground.  Love it!

The heat

A few weeks ago Abbey was able to get her endowments out, so while we had the whole family in town we thought it would be fun to take family pictures!  It turned out to be a little above 100 that day!  Needless to say we were all hot!  Here are a couple of pictures of the boys eating their melted popsicles.

This was taken the same day.  Note to self don't leave crayons in the car in the summer, they will melt and  make a mess.
On Jonny's days off Logan loves to follow him around.  Jonny needed to get stuff done in the garage so he made Logan a little play area in the wagon lol.  He seemed to be enjoying himself with his popsicle and trucks.

Logan turns 2!!

I can't believe our baby turned 2 on Monday!!  It is crazy how fast they grow up!
He is becoming such a cute little boy and we are so grateful he is ours!
We threw him a little party with just our family.  He thought it was pretty cool to have all his cousins over to play with.  We all went swimming after cake and presents.

His cake turned out so good!  I was even impressed with myself!
Logan became very shy when he discovered that everybody was looking at him and singing
Presents!  He loves all of them!  He was a little spoiled for his birthday, but what kid isn't?

Learning how to hit a base ball, I think Jonny will have more fun with his toys then he will!

Oregon Coast (part 2)

On Sunday we took a hike up to a water fall and bridge.

It was so pretty!  Jonny and I have decided that ending up in Oregon wouldn't be the worst thing in the world!  It is so green and so pretty!
 Jonny at the bridge

Logan had NO fear of the bridge.  His favorite part was when the bridge would bounce.  It was so high, he loved that he could so the water.  That boy and water, he can't get enough!

Oregon Coast (Part one)

Back in June we got to go to the Oregon coast!  It was really nice to just get away for a couple of days!  We went with Jason and his family and Dave and Joyce.

Logan loved every minute of the water!  Even tho it was pretty cold he did not want to leave.

Saturday we spent all day at the beach, it was so nice and warm.  Logan was in heaven playing with all the sand and toys.
The boys made a sand castle.  I have never seen one this detailed before, they had a lot of admirers!

After the long day at the beach the kids sat and watched a movie!  If you look closely at Logans face, he got a pretty good sun burn.  (It just shows how awesome of a mom he has didn't put enough on oops!)
